Hi there!
My name is Sharmaine and I am a wedding photographer based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. I travel the width and breadth of the UK and to destinations around the world. My style is reportage with elements of the traditional, from capturing the timeless moment of your first kiss to a back-lit silhouette of you both, amid colourful smoke, that will leave you feeling like you just stepped off the set of a movie.
I LOVE photographing weddings and I always feel immense pride when a couple ask me to be their photographer, and to play such an integral part in their special day. My approach is such that I am able to secure highly creative shots, in an unobtrusive way, meaning that my photographs have a joyful and relaxed feel to them. I try to document everything, from the minutest detail, to the crazy and spontaneous moments that make every couple’s wedding unique.
Here are a few random facts about me…
-I was born and raised in Abingdon, Oxfordshire and still live here today.
-I am obsessed with anything stripey! Literally anything… if it has stripes, I will most likely want to own it.
-One of my favourite pastimes is baking, creating strange concoctions, and then trying to hide how much mess I have made.
-I discovered my passion for photography after my ‘point and shoot’ camera was stolen and I was given my first DSLR camera for Christmas.
-I love snow, it creates an amazingly soft light that looks beautiful in photos.
-Roller skates and/or blades are amazing! The feeling you get when you’re skating along is pure bliss.
-I will never be too old to enjoy a good film marathon… even if the staying up part is getting tougher these days!
-I LOVE WEDDINGS!!!!
-I went on holiday to Morocco a few years ago and fell in love with its food, its culture and the people who live there… it’s a truly magical place.
-I enjoy doing things on impulse and being adventurous.
-You will often find me sitting at my computer browsing through wedding blogs, editing photos and listening to LOUD music when I am not out shooting pictures.
